We Are Getting Married

Olga & Kris

Save The Date

May 26, 2023

Our Story

Olga and Kris met when the world was in a seemingly perpetual lock-down. Just before they met, while the future of the world was cloudy and colorless, Olga was about ready to quit the dating apps for good. Kris had given up on Los Angeles for good, and he moved to Huntington Beach in search of a better life.

Then, in early January 2021 or thereabout, a new face appeared on Olga’s dating app. With a mixture of curiosity and courage, she sent him a sweet message in reply to Kris’s photo, titled, “Love in the time of Covid”.

And a few days later they were on a date! They went to a speak-easy restaurant, called the Black Trumpet, secretly operating their indoor dining room in Huntington Beach. It was glorious. She was glamorous.

Six months later, in July, Kris was on a road trip North to Washington. Naturally, Olga would call once or twice a day to catch up. And on one of those calls, Olga exclaimed that Instagram started displaying ads for engagement rings! She inadvertently caught him, while he was a thousand miles away on a forested highway somewhere between Crater Lake and Klamath Falls.  She went on to explain that her phone was listening to her conversation about a friend’s engagement ring… But then Kris decided to confess. He had searched fruitlessly for a ring online many times and he desperately needed help, and Instagram had outed him.

A few months later, Kris proposed to Olga in Miami – with the ring she designed! You can see some of the photos here from that day, and you can join us as we create more memories on our wedding day.

Olga Solomina

Olga originally moved to the United States from Belarus in 2003 with her mom, Yelena Solomina, who met and married Olga’s dad (step-dad) Chris Hyatt.

Olga got her Bachelors degree from Cal State Fullerton and is working in real estate industry. She loves hiking, painting, traveling, reading self-development audio books, and yoga.

Kris Kratz

Kris loves the traveling, outdoors, road trips, reading, and the occasional game of chess.

After selling a retail store in 2016 he enjoyed a mini-retirement, traveled a lot. However, he’s not one to sit by idly, so he delved into coding and website development.  As with any other unfortunate perfectionist, that career is now both his great passion and his torment.

Seize the moments of happiness, love and be loved! That is the only reality in the world, all else is folly. It is the one thing we are interested in here.
